A La Carte Event Pavilion

In November I am getting married to an amazing woman in Tampa. I chose to use the web site of the venue which we are getting married. The A La Carte Event Pavilion located just west of Tampa International Airport is the location of the most important day of my life. This upscale event venue has 18,000 square feet of flexible event space, versatile ballrooms, a waterfront terrace and gourmet kitchen.

I chose to use this website for my personal page because I think it is well designed and visually effective. The site uses a centered liquid column container. The rest of the site is divided up using CSS and Div tags. The main CSS file is divided up into 3 main sections for Page Structure, Text Styles, and Form Styles to better organize the CSS code.

The A La Carte Event Pavilion has several sections for weddings, gala events, corporate events, and even sporting events such as boxing and MMA fighting. The best use of excellent design on this website is the Weddings page. This page displays quite a few of their previous weddings and the different designed weddings. I really like the use of a javascript picture viewer called Lightbox. Lightbox brings the photo out in a box dimming out the rest of the screen. This small code makes the picture more dramatic and pop out to the viewer.

The Event Space page offers a great map and a table to breakdown of all the possible room configurations and dimensions. The Industry Trends page features a great monthly design blog written by our event coordinator Corina Wian. Her ideas are out of the box and very creative.
